Rising Tide

Rising Tide is a 6.44 acre property in the private enclave of Old Hoopers Bay which is located midway between Exuma’s International Airport and George Town. The 2 bed, 2 bath beautifully furnished island-style main house, and separate garage and guest house building sit on the 2nd highest point on Great Exuma with panoramic views over Exuma Sound to the northwest and the shallow bonefish flats to the south. On the property there is the old ruin of a cottage that dates back to the 1,700’s. Old Hoopers Bay is a 38 acre tract of land developed in the late 1950’s by 5 investors who built 5 stone cottages each named after a different island in the Bahamas, and a clubhouse called The Point House. Since that time several of the homes changed hands, were enlarged and renovated, and today there are 9 families, some of whom are permanent residents, and some who enjoy their vacation home in the Bahamas from time to time. A private road runs from the Queens Highway up the hill and down to the shared beach and park reserve. The property has city water, well water and rainwater catchment.
